Ms. K. Johnson is an Educational Specialist of Business & Marketing Education in Birmingham City Schools. She has always had a passion for learning and teaching, which is why she is a seasoned educator of thirteen years. She have imparted and impacted so many lives as an educator in Business Education. She is currently transitioning from being an educator to administrator by enrolling in the Educational Leadership Program at The University of Alabama at Birmingham for the Fall 2018 term. She has goals of one day having her own school in teaching and leading people across the world. She also has visions to create several businesses and nonprofits to benefit children without parents, the youth, families, and the communities.

Kathi discovered the major of Business Marketing Education while attending AAMU as a Sophomore transferred from the University of South Alabama. Dr. Sandra Durham, her major advisor at AAMU influenced her that the field was for her and that there would be a job for me once I finished with a degree in Business Education.  Dr. Durham inspired her to strive for higher learning and degrees in the field, which indulged her in obtaining a Master's and an Educational Specialist degree from the great institution on "The Hill".
TRANSFERRED, THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH ALABAMA
Aug. 2001 - May 2002
The time she spent in Mobile, AL at USA was challenging, but rewarding at the same time. She went to USA on a full basketball scholarship. However, due to an injury exposed during the 2nd day of preseason, she never played collegiate ball. After being inducted in the Freshmen Honor Society, she decided to transfer somewhere closer to home, prayerfully on an academic scholarship, because she always had the brains.

The educational & athletic experience Kathi was privileged to partake in was exceptional, exciting, enlightening, encouraging, & exhausting throughout the four years of her high school career. She was always busy as a captain and starter of a winning basketball program, class presidents, organizations leadership positions, scholar athlete, & Valedictorian of her Class of 2001. Her time spent as a Mighty Huffman Viking will always run her blood orange and green. She has that Viking pride til the day she die.
